FUEL OIL

Fuel oil is a fraction (of crude?) obtained from petroleum distillation, either as distillate or residue.

The different fuel oil grades are classified according to their viscosity and sulphur content.

Types of fuel oil are:

  • Distillate oil
  • Residual oil

These oils are further distinguished by grade numbers, with No. 1 and 2 being distillate oils; No. 5 and 6 being residual oils; and No. 4 either distillate oil or a mixture of distillate and residual oils. No. 6 fuel oil is sometimes referred to as Bunker C.

Fuel oil is used to fuel power stations, ships, industries, and home heating oil. It also used in large applications such as electric power generators. We provide the best quality of fuel oil to the end consumer.
